Tennessee politics behind the scenes
He has my money and vote. Now, who will remove Desjarlais?
There's a lot of buzz about this going on this morning. I think Joe Carr may be exactly the candidate we need to oust Lamar Alexander.KM
Joe is not a "Tea Party" candidate. He is a Republican candidate. So, discerning Republican voters need to know the true litmus test for "loyal" TN Republicans who appear to be "Tea Party": will he shake Zach Wamp's hand?Joe's biggest sell (maybe an oversell) so far for me is Chip Saltsman's letter of resignation from his campaign/declaration of fealty to Lamar!, the father of the Internet Sales Tax and Indefinite Detention in Guantanamo Without Trial. It's kind of a toss up which is the main point of the letter. Maybe Chip is gunning for museum tour guide director. Maybe it's just part of the TNGOP game plan. In any case, nice job helping out Joe. That being said, given the TNGOP's actions in the last presidential primary, it has already been demonstrated that their primary rules mean nothing and can be made up on the fly. I am not sure if my primary vote means anything or not, but I will be voting in the primary in self defense against Lamar!, for Joe, a yellow dog, dead Memphis voter, etc.I predict Joe will be Santorum'd when the RNC tells the TNGOP who their candidate WILL be.Then Joe can't run in the general election and prove principles reign over party (aw, shucks!). Lamar! will campaign against Obama (while approving his appointments and voting his administration bills all the way). Mission accomplished. If I ran the TNGOP, it would seem an almost necessary thing to "accomodate" the dissatisfaction with my false advertised, inferior product in Lamar! by offering a "choice" in Santorum...uh I mean Joe, to garner those "Tea Party" votes that aren't a part of us because we are Republicans and the party must win at all costs.I truly hope I am wrong. I'd really like to believe in Joe. If the Republican party had demonstrated more integrity in the past, I could believe in their candidates more. As George Bush said, "we cain't get fooled again!"
Now number 41, you are asking the Republican Party to stand for something. Remember when Santorum said politics is a team sport? He also said he is a home school father of 7 children, but remember taxpayers financing $100,000 for his kids online charter school education? Learn from Santorum, honesty means nothing in politics. It's a team sport. If Lamar wins, you are still suppose to vote for him against the evil Mark Clayton that slips by Democrats.
