Tennessee politics behind the scenes
Hiya Stacey, it's me Jenny again. The next thing will be live sex demos on campus, just wait... that's exactly where this is headed I bet.. I wish this thing could be cancelled and never thought of again. Who's the genius behind this bad idea anyway? Maybe someone could start a petition to get it cancelled? Just a thought.
Stacey, I'm with Jenny. Do we not have the ability and the courage to cancel this entire event at UT? It would make such a strong statement about the values of the people of Tennessee! It would send our young people a very valuable message, as well!
No. You don't. You kind of have to be a student or be a part of the administration to really have a big say in the university. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qF8e_OjSJ_E/UAKhrLIcoEI/AAAAAAAAB5c/V_jssazB0JM/s1600/carl-sagan-deal-with-it.gif
Anonymous, you must be very young not to know that the State Senate, including the Senate Education Committee and the Senate Finance Committee are the ones to whom the top administrators at UT have to answer to. These state legislators are actually the ones who approve the budget and provide the money which is used to run UT each year. Don't feel bad, I didn't know this until I had some years on me....
The adults are not in charge anymore.
Maybe a lot of us felt that way when we were your age...you will grow out of it.The adults are in charge because they are the ones with the responsibility of taking care of you and protecting you. They are the ones who are responsible for seeing that you get the best of everything they can provide, even when it is the opposite of what you want. Maybe you could try and trust a little. Maybe you cannot - maybe there have been people in your past who have been mean to you and caused you to have trouble trusting. Please know that there are adults out here who care for you a lot and who have your best interest at heart.
You people are all idiots, plain and simple.
